I’m a proud Brooklynite, born and raised in the heart of Bed-Stuy, East New York, and Crown Heights—now Prospect Heights. A true ‘70s baby, Brooklyn has shaped every part of who I am today. After graduating from William H. Maxwell High School, I entered adulthood as a young mother, determined to create a successful future for myself and my child.
For 18 years, I worked in the medical field in a laboratory billing department, where I learned the foundations of business management from my Jewish work family. They pushed me to master every lesson, never letting me take no for an answer. As one of the few Black women in that space, I stood firm in my identity—rocking hairstyles of strength and refusing to compromise my authenticity.
At just 16, I was already immersed in NYC’s nightlife, frequenting legendary venues like Underground, Palladium, and Tunnel. That’s when I met my mentor, SugaBear of Word of Mouth Entertainment, one of the city’s top promoters. I started working doors and managing mailing lists, quickly gaining a reputation behind the scenes.
In 1996, fueled by passion and years of hands-on experience, I launched GoodLife Enterprises NY. From producing unforgettable events to managing talent, my journey has been a testament to resilience, community, and the vibrant Brooklyn culture that’s in my soul. I’m grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and every moment that’s brought me here.
GoodLife Enterprises, Inc. is an entertainment and production company founded by TrinaSunshine Fowler in 1996, embodying the vibrant spirit of Brooklyn, NY, where she was born and raised. With the motto “Brooklyn Is In My Soul,” TrinaSunshine has been a dynamic force in the entertainment industry since 1988, starting her career under the mentorship of SugaBear with Word of Mouth Entertainment. Over 30 years later, GoodLife Enterprises has left an indelible mark on the scene, with a track record of successful artist management, event curation, and production.
GoodLife Enterprises has managed talents such as Kayla Bliss, TJ, and a roster of notable DJs. The company took the reins in producing Kayla Bliss’s music video “It’s Not Cheating,” shot at the popular Brooklyn venue 95 South in 1997. Along with a series of open mics and fashion shows. GoodLife is best known for launching the legendary Afterwork Wednesdays (2008-2012) at 95 South, bringing in iconic DJ Lance and establishing the event as a Brooklyn nightlife staple. TrinaSunshine celebrated the four-year run with performances from talents like Eniqueity, Johnny Famous, Will Traxx, and numerous DJs. She has also curated her all white annual event at The SoHo Loft Penthouse Six Rooftop (2013-2015)
Inspired by her love for Caribbean music, particularly soca, calypso, and reggae, TrinaSunshine co-hosted a backyard event in Diego Martin, Trinidad, during the early 1990s featuring performances from TalPree, Machel Montano, and Bunji Garlin. This passion also fueled the launch of Unity Sound Reggae Sounds in 2008 with Business partner Hard Hittin Harry. Starting at the Lounge Diety, then Status to name a couple. They had a series of weekly reggae events that drew artists such as Khari Kill, Estelle, Mikey Jarrett, Mister Cee, Steelie Bashment, DJ Big Lou, International DJ Spice, Mr. Easy, Spragga Benz, Rayvon, Azia, and more. That event has since turned into an annual Beach Event at DredSurfer Grill in Far RockAway Beach since 2019.
For five years, GoodLife Enterprises ran weekly events—Afterwork Wednesdays with DJ Lance (R.I.P.) Comedy Thursdays with Brooklyn Mike, Kenny Williams and others, Gotta Have Soul Saturdays with Uncle Ralph McDaniels and Reggae Sundays with Hard Hittin Harry—bringing an eclectic mix of music and culture to Brooklyn. After a brief hiatus, GoodLife Enterprises made a triumphant return in 2024 while partnering up for the launch of BKNTHAA, an Atlanta Georgia event for Brooklinites relocating to Georgia.,then with exciting plans for 2025 and beyond.
